Collaborate Ultra - Course Room
Blackboard Collaborate Ultra offers a Course Room which is an open session with no expiration. The room is open and accessible to all students in the course at all times. This can be useful for full class meetings or impromptu meetings you need to get set up quickly. If you need to run multiple sessions at the same time, or want students to meet in separate groups, you should set up separate sessions. Use the Course Room
In your course, navigate to the Blackboard Collaborate area.
Click on “Course Room”. This will allow you to immediately enter the session
Change the Course Room Options
To make changes to the Course Room settings select the “Sessions Options” icon and then select “Edit Settings”.
From the settings area you can edit things such as what tools participants can use and whether they can join with a phone. For more details on these settings, see the “Collaborate Ultra - Creating a Session” tutorial.
The Course Room session has all the same options and tools as a scheduled session.
Turn Off the Course Room
If you don't want students to view or join the open course room session, you can turn it off. To do this return to the “Session Options” menu and select “Lock course room”.
