Live Streaming a Synchronous Session

Faculty can live stream a campus activity, such as a lab or demonstration, to engage both on campus and remote students in a a synchronous manner. These events can be recorded so that they can also be viewed at a later time.

You can use either Ring Central or Blackboard Collaborate to live stream and record synchronous sessions.

Using Blackboard Collaborate

To use Blackboard Collaborate for a synchronous session, you will need to ensure that Collaborate has been added to your Blackboard course. Reach out to onlineedsupport@usa.edu if you need assistance adding Collaborate to your course. Using Collaborate, you should create a new session for the live stream event. We recommend that you also record the Collaborate session so that students can review it later. The recordings for sessions are available for students in the Blackboard Collaborate area of your course.
