Date Management Tool
Instructors can use the Date Management tool to update content dates at the start of each new term. Date types include due dates, availability dates, and adaptive release dates.
The Date Management tool only works if default due dates have been assigned in the master course. If the course was copied from a master and there are no due dates, please reach out to your Course Coordinator or Program Director to request that default due dates to all assignments in the master course so that you can use the Date Management tool in future terms.
Accessing the Date Management Tool
You can access the Date Management tool from the Course Management control panel under the main menu for your course.
It is recommended that you review all dates in the course and manually adjust them. To do this, select the option “List All Dates for Review” and then select the “Next” button. The tool will display a progress bar while it is running. When it completes, select “Next” to proceed.
The Date management tool will display all the dates it found in your course. If you use availability dates or adaptive release dates in addition to due dates, you can sort by “Date Type” at the top.
If an assignment does not have a due date assigned to it, it will NOT appear in the date management tool. If assignments are missing from the Date Management Review page, you will need to locate the assignment in the course and to assign a due date manually.
Adjusting Dates
To edit a date, select the “Edit Dates” pencil icon for the item you wish to update. Then:
The date will appear under the item title. Select it to edit.
Select the green check box icon to the far right to SAVE. The reverse arrow icon will CANCEL the change.
*Remember that times are in the Eastern Time zone and do not adjust for a student’s local time. So if you are in the Eastern Time zone and you select 11:59PM as the due date time, that would be 8:59PM for students in the Pacific Time zone.
