Exporting and Importing Tests and Surveys

Export a Test or Survey

In your course, navigate to the faculty-only Course Management menu under the main course menu. Under Control Panel > Course Tools, select “Tests, Surveys, and Pools”.

Go to the “Tests Area”. In this example, we will export a test. To export a survey, go to the “Surveys” area instead.

Choose the test you want to export by selecting the chevron icon next to the test and then select “Export to Local Computer”.

Depending on your computer and browser, this may automatically download a .zip export file to your computer or you may have to approve the download. If the file is downloaded to a generic “Downloads” folder, be sure to copy or move it to a safe location where you will be able to find it later.

Importing a Test or Survey

In your course, navigate to the faculty-only Course Management menu under the main course menu. Under Control Panel > Course Tools, select “Tests, Surveys, and Pools”.

Go to the “Tests Area”. In this example, we will import a test. To import a survey, go to the “Surveys” area instead.

Select “Import Test”

Select “Browse My Computer” and then navigate to the .zip file containing a test you have previously exported. Note that only Blackboard tests are compatible with this import.

The test will upload and will now appear in the Tests area. If the test was exported from multiple pools, the pools will automatically be imported and now appear in the “Pools” area.

Blackboard Practice Test Package

If you would like to practice importing a test into your course, you can use the below Blackboard Practice Test package (.zip).
